Business Situation

A major pharmaceutical manufacturer was undertaking a program to increase its distribution capability, improve efficiency and tightly integrate ERP and WMS systems. Recent experiences with smaller projects had not produced results in a predictable and timely fashion. Significant savings were committed and a very real potential existed for lost savings if timelines were not met.

Program Description

The client had a program team made up of key personnel from warehouse operations, ERP, Material Handling, Warehouse management, and quality assurance. The program did not have an organized approach to program management, and lacked an integrated program plan, governance and risk management approach.

Endeavor Involvement

Endeavor was retained to rapidly organize a program management office, develop an integrated program plan, and implement a risk management approach. Endeavor used a bottom up approach in developing the master plan ensuring team buy-in with the results. Endeavor developed an overall program status reporting process to ensure consistency of reporting and risk management. Our holistic approach was to designed to allow our client to manage the program in a predictable manner minimizing the risk to the program timeline.

Cross trained company management in program management and risk management techniques. Produced a program approach and plan designed to ensure business and integration benefits were realized. Identified key critical program risks and developed mitigation plans before any impact to timelines were realized.
